During the Regular Meeting in July, the Glynn County Board of Education unanimously approved the purchase of 128 vape detectors for Brunswick High School and Glynn Academy.
The sensors are designed to detect vape smoke, as well as marijuana and cigarette smoke, along with sound. The total cost, including installation and four years of licensing, amounts to $174,513.77. These detectors will be strategically placed in every restroom within both schools.

The Board also approved the following policies:
- GARHB: Paid Parental Leave
- GBRIG: Federal Family and Medical Leave Act
- IFBGC: Employee Computer and Internet Use
- JCDA: Student Code of Conduct
During the Work Session preceding the Regular Meeting, updates on various ESPLOST construction projects at Brunswick High, as well as Goodyear, St. SImons and Satilla elementary schools, were discussed.
