To give our students, teachers and staff, families, and community a clearer picture of what virtual and in-person instruction will entail, we have created a document that outlines a typical school day for students, including sample schedules, school meals and formal assessments.

In working to put plans in place to reopen schools safely in the fall, Glynn County Schools has created a Return to School Framework that addresses numerous areas that will affect day-to-day school operations.

The best way to keep our students healthy during flu season is to immunize them. All enrolled students will be eligible to receive the flu shot through their school regardless of insurance status. If you would like your student vaccinated, you must complete, sign, and return a Parental Consent Form to your child’s school nurse by October 15, 2020.

La mejor manera de mantener la salud de nuestros estudiantes saludables durante la temporada de la Influenza es vacunarlos. Todos los estudiantes matriculados serán elegibles para recibir la vacuna contra la gripe de su escuela independientemente del estado del seguro. Si desea que su estudiante sea vacunado, debe completar, firmar y devolver a formulario de consentimiento parental a la enfermera escolar de su hijo antes del 15 de octubre de 2020.

Starting Tuesday, June 30, GCSS families will have the option to select between traditional, face-to-face instruction and continuing to learn from home when school resumes on Tuesday, August 11. All registration forms must be submitted before 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 12, 2020.

In an effort to remain open, accessible and transparent to the public, we have created a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page to address concerns about the diverse and complex challenges our schools will face this fall.

In support of strengthening student academic achievement, we have developed a parent-family engagement plan to engage families in the education of their children and to build the capacity in our Title I schools to implement activities designed to achieve those goals.

Parents and guardians who have a child that will attend public school in Glynn County for the first time next school year are encouraged to register their child now for school in August. The 2020-2021 school year will begin on Tuesday, August 11.

Beginning Friday, Sept. 11, elementary and middle school students will have an opportunity to switch from either virtual learning to face-to-face instruction or vice versa.
